
EXPLANATION OF LUNCH BOX & THERMOS CONDITION GRADING SYSTEM

There are different standards for grading metal lunch boxes than for grading plastic lunch boxes and thermoses. Both are outlined below.
| "10" | Mint | Store stock, new, with original price tags. |
| "9" | Near Mint | Very little wear, surface has wet look, feels slick. |
| "8" | Excellent | Minor high edge wear, spot wear, light scratches & rust stains. |
| "7" | Fine | Normal rim & spot wear, small dents, light rust & feels dry. |
| "6" | Very Good | More than normal spot & rim wear, large dents, metal next to latch broken. |
| "5" | Good | Heavy wear on both sides, dents, light rust inside. |
| "4" | Fair | Only one side good for display. |
| "3" | Poor | Neither side is good for display. |
| "2" | Bad | Heavy rust, fading, dents, no handle, bad inside. |
| "1" | Terrible | Rusted or painted beyond recognition. |

"10" Mint Store stock, new, with original price tags.
"9" Near Mint Looks new, but shows signs of very little use, with very small hairline scratches on the back.
"8" Excellent Scratches and wear on the back and sides, but picture graphics are not damaged.
"7" Fine Had bad scratches and wear on back and front. Decal has peeling around edges or starting to wrinkle or bubble.
"6" Good Has small breaks or cracks in plastic. Small amounts of decal missing, wrinkling or bubbling to wrinkle or bubble.
"5" Poor Missing handle or latch. Very bad breaks in plastic. Most of the decal is missing. Extra artwork added with felt marker by child.
